The most magical moment in Dakhla
The sunset slot is our travellers' favourite — and for good reason. When the Sahara's golden light wraps around the cliffs, the desert and the ocean, every moment becomes a living painting. On horseback, you ride down the cliffs to a deserted beach and gallop along the water's edge facing the setting sun. By camel, you cross the desert in caravan before pausing by the ocean to take it all in.
Our guides capture photos and videos throughout the ride — sunset light makes for stunning shots. A mint tea awaits you on your return. Departure time varies by season: the earliest is 4:45 PM, the latest 6:45 PM on horseback and 7:15 PM by camel.
Two experiences, one sense of wonder
The horseback sunset is more dynamic: you cross the desert and cliffs before heading down to the beach for a gallop facing the setting sun. Perfect for thrill-seekers — all levels welcome, our guides adapt.
The camel sunset is more contemplative: the caravan's gentle pace invites stillness, with a pause facing the ocean to watch the sun go down. Tea and traditional attire included. This is the only sunset option available to families with young children.
